The South African has decided to increase R20 in the Child Support Grant For the 2024 Financial year. However, along with that notable increment, the Finance Department has also introduced an R250 top-up per child for CSG beneficiaries.
Accumulatively, the recipients will receive R780/month from April 2024 onwards. In the meantime, SASSA has also revised the Means Test and Eligibility Standards For CSG, under which a primary caretaker could claim a grant for up to six children.
Further, the applicants of the Child Support Grant must pass the CSG Means Test, under which the aspirant’s yearly income must not exceed R61200/year, and they must attach the Child’s Birth Certificate and Affidavits from a Police Station and Child’s Biological Parents.
SASSA Child Support Grant New Amount
Child Support Grant is a streamlined Social Venture by SASSA across South African territory. Under this welfare scheme, the organization financially assists the primary caretakers of Orphan Children through the proper evaluation process.

During the Budget Speech For the Financial Year 2024, the South African Government decided to increase the CSG Grant by R20 alongside offering R250 as the top-up amount for all Primary Caretakers suffering from rising inflation.
