Among all other Notable Grants, the South African Government has also increased the SASSA Grant-In-Aid by R10 during the Budget Allocation for the Financial Year 2024. From now on, recipients of Grant-In-Aid will receive R 510/month.
In the meantime, the Government has also revised the Eligibility Standards and Means Tests For Grant-In-Aid Applicants, under which the applicants must attach a valid medical report assessing that they need full-time care.
It is pertinent to mention that SASSA doesn’t conduct Means Tests on Assets or Yearly Incomes For Grant-In-Aid. Still, its aspirants must already be recipients of an Older Persons grant, a Disability grant, or a War Veteran grant.
SASSA Grant-In-Aid New Amount
SASSA offers Grant-In-Aid to those applicants who are already receiving any Social Grant but are unable to take care of themselves due to mental or physical disabilities. Ultimately, they can use this grant to pay for their full-time caretakers.

Before April 2024, SASSA was paying R500/m to all Grant-In-Aid recipients. However, the government has decided to increase the Grant-In-Aid Payment Amount by R10, taking the grant’s amount to R510 per month from April 2024.
Tips For Instant Approval
In short, the increment in SASSA Grant-In-Aid is a considerable step for the South African Government to combat increasing inflation.
Meanwhile, applicants must read the Updated Grant-In-Aid Eligibility Standards to ensure 100% approval of their applications.
